We know getting braces can be a bit hard for some people, especially adults. With busy lives and families, we don’t always have the time to be worrying about what kind of food we can or can’t eat, or be going back to the dentist because a bracket broke.
With that in mind, PDG is bringing the most modern method of treating your teeth into all its clinics, Invisalign.

PDG now has Invisalign for the whole family!
With Invisalign, you can improve your smile without the need of changing your habits and with minimum noticeability. Invisalign makes it easy to get the confident smile you’ve always wanted.

Invisalign has been in the market for many years, but it’s still fairly new to most people and you may have a lot of questions about it as well as wonder if it’s right for you.

Knowledge is the key to good choices. Here is what you need to know about Invisalign.

1. What is Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth.
Invisalign are clear aligners custom made for every patient to treat different orthodontic problems like crowding, overbite, underbite, open bite, cross bite, and gapped teeth.
The aligners are made of flexible plastic — specifically, a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack created exclusively for Invisalign treatment.

2. Is the treatment painful?

Invisalign aligners are thin, clear, and fit snugly over your teeth, making them virtually invisible.
No, the treatment does not cause pain. You may feel some discomfort in the beginning, which you’ll get over very fast.

3. Am I a candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment can be a great solution for both adults and teens looking for a virtually invisible method to improve their smile. Invisalign’s advanced technology makes it possible to fix nearly all common teeth-straightening and bite issues, from simple to complex.

4. How often do I have to wear my aligners?

It is advised that you keep them on for 20 to 22 hours per day. That being said, you should only remove them when you eat or when you clean your teeth.

5. How often do I need to come in to change my aligners?

It will depend on how quickly things are moving along and how extensive your treatment is.  Usually about 4-6 weeks.
The doctor will be able to better determine this during your treatment.

6. What happens if I lose my aligners?

If you lose or break an aligner, immediately let your PDG doctor know. We’ll work with you to ensure you stay on track with your treatment plan, which may involve wearing a previous set of aligners, your next set of aligners, or ordering replacements aligners.

7. Are there certain foods I should avoid during my Invisalign treatment?

Nope. That’s the beauty of choosing Invisalign. When you eat, the aligners can be removed so there are no food restrictions.
But don’t forget to clean your teeth before putting the aligner back on!

8. Will wearing the aligners affect my speech?

Just like any other mouth appliance, wearing the aligner will take some getting used to and could affect your speech.
Most people get used to having them in after a week or two.

9. Will I need to wear a retainer after the treatment is over?

Most doctors recommend that anyone who has completed orthodontic treatment, whether with braces or Invisalign treatment, use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back toward their initial position. Every case is different, so ask your doctor if you need retainers.

10. Am I guaranteed to have straight teeth with Invisalign treatment?

Every smile is unique, which is why your Invisalign treatment starts with a consultation. During your consultation, your doctor will help you determine what Invisalign treatment can do for your smile. We can’t guarantee a particular treatment outcome, but encourage you to share your treatment goals with your doctor at your consultation.
