Special Needs Care

At PDG we understand that some patients need a little extra care. With that in mind, we created an environment that can be comforting and welcoming to all.

Patients that have anxiety, autism, down syndrome, and other conditions that make standard dental procedures more difficult require special consideration during their appointment.

How PDG can help?

PDG is clinically set up to meet children with any special needs. All our clinics are wheelchair accessible and provide private rooms customized to create a safe and calming space for any patient that may need it.  Our clinics are also filled with objects and items to calm down patients with behavioural challenges. We provide sensory tools that work with the senses – hearing, feel, visual – and help them feel more relaxed.

At PDG, we have the ability to customize the appointment to meet the needs of the patient, open clinic concept with child friendly chairs and visuals, one on one areas reserved for little ones or for those  that need a quieter space, auditory earphones to minimize external sounds, parent involvement, story book of visit involvement/expectations step by step are some of the techniques we use to help our patients to have a positive experience during their dental appointment.

It’s crucial for your child’s oral health that they have regular visits to the dentist which will allow preventive treatment. When it comes to special needs children, parents tend to only take them when there’s an obvious problem since the experience can be a bit too overwhelming. That’s why it’s important to find a specialist that will be able to take the proper care of your children.

Our doctors have special training and are qualified to take care of children as well as special needs. Our staff is compassionate and understanding to accommodate patients that have special needs. If your child requires special consideration, please let us know when making your appointment, so we can accommodate their needs from the very minute you enter our office.
